Community guidelines
Disagree as hard as you like. Respect is the rule.
These rules apply to everyone equally, whatever their politics. We never remove posts for being unpopular.
Not allowed
- Rule 1. No slurs or attacks on any ethnic group, religion, region or gender.
- Rule 2. No harassment, intimidation or coordinated pile-ons against individuals.
- Rule 3. No threats or calls for violence, ever.
- Rule 4. No doxxing. Don’t share anyone’s private address, phone number or workplace.
- Rule 5. No fraud, fake gifting, or paid political influence.
Always allowed
- Criticising public officials, parties and governments, including sharply.
- Discussing painful history, including the civil war and military rule.
- Writing in English or Pidgin.
- Changing your mind in public.
Photos and videos
- Share only photos and videos you took, or have permission to share. Credit the source if it isn’t yours.
- Ask before posting close-ups of people. Never post children without a parent or guardian’s permission.
- No nudity or sexual content, gore, or images of dead or badly injured people.
- Hide private details: ID cards, bank details, phone numbers, car plates and home addresses.
- Label anything edited or AI-generated. Never present a fake or altered image as real.
- No campaign adverts, party materials made to promote a candidate, or paid promotion.
The rules above apply to photos and videos too, including what’s written on signs or said in videos. Anyone can report a post; a moderator decides, and the author can appeal.
What happens when something goes wrong
- Respect Check. Before you post, we flag language that may break a rule so you can edit it.
- Human review. Unclear cases go to a trained moderator, not an algorithm alone.
- Clear notice. If we remove a post, we tell you which rule and which words.
- Appeal. You can appeal any decision. We aim to answer within 48 hours.
